POLAR
In the exhibition history of the KUNST-KONTOR gallery, the topic of artist couples has always played a role. After all, it shows the interesting dichotomy of both being related to each other and the autonomy of the work and works of two people. The painter Gabriela Francik, born in 1964, and the painter Axel Krause, born in 1958, have been a couple since 2010.
For the first time, they are exhibiting together at the KUNST-KONTOR gallery. They write about their project:
Togetherness does not lead
inevitably to a quarrel
Polar and rhythmic is all being. On a large and small scale, the cosmos, nature, the spirit, culture, society and in people's relationships. Man and woman, day and night, light and shadow, active - passive, conscious - unconscious, analytical - synthetic, progressive and conservative - together they form a whole. As the colour wheel impressively teaches, the opposite, furthest away colours form the strongest contrast, as well as perfect harmony. The antagonist is at the same time its complementary.
