It's ironic, funny and unconventional and not corrupted by the paleness of thougts. From afar blows the breath of the German culture in a Pop-Art ordeur. So the art of "ORNAMENT & PROMISE" is meeting the watchful observer.
The name - rich in associations - of the artists group from Potsdam hides three boys, who are not the youngest boys anymore: The grafik designer Mike Geßner, the photographer Steffen Mühle und the painter Mike Bruchner. They banded together in 2007 to do what they like best: to play.
This indispensable, deeply rooted element of human activity as a place of creative action and space for a pleasurable and free world is the common ground for their work. Playing can be a serious affair, demonstrated by the subjects the artists are picking up consistently: subjects that are in the air or dominating the social discourse. The arising creative flow when they are working together generates objects and groups of work, in which the artistic egos of the individual actors are completly merging into one.
The exhibition of "ORNAMENT & PROMISE" at the Gallery KUNST-KONTOR presents objects, images and installations under the title "PEEPING TOM ...". With sense and sensibility are the artists posing the question of the individual's role in a system of increasing medial, political und privat surveillance.
